Kenyan Sunrise

First light in a cup. Kenyan Sunrise breaks open with bright acidity and a sweep of orange and lemon, all of it carried on an effervescent, almost sparkling lift, then a clean floral note that lingers like sea air at dawn. The body sits medium and easy, so the brightness leads without ever turning sharp.

Grown in the high red soil of Othaya in Nyeri County, fully washed and dried on raised beds, then roasted medium/light to keep every spark of citrus and bloom intact. A single origin for the sailor who chases the next port. Pour it for slow mornings and the kind of day you want to remember. Veteran-owned and sustainably sourced, small-batch roasted to order and shipped fresh, with 5% of every order going to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. Drink Coffee and Do Good.

The Details

  • Roast: Medium/Light
  • Body: Medium
  • Acidity: High and bright
  • Notes: Orange, lemon, floral, effervescent
  • Best for: For bright mornings, pour-over, and anyone chasing an adventurous single origin
  • Brew tip: Brew as pour-over or clean drip to let the citrus, floral, and effervescent lift ring out. A slightly coarser grind and water just off the boil keep the brightness lively without going sharp.

So, so

It's got a fruity flavor with notes of wine on my palate. My wife didn't like it at all. For me it's okay, but barely.

Great Coffee, Awesome Company!

This is the first brew I've ordered from Salty Sailor but I really love it and will definitely be ordering more and trying more of their other options!
