The coffee locker

Historic Wood

Every piece here began somewhere else. The deck of a battleship. A beam from the ship that carried Nelson at Trafalgar. Wood that held sailors through war, and outlived the vessel it came from.

These are not replicas, and they are not souvenirs built to look old. The material is the artifact. Teak lifted from the deck of the USS New Jersey, which served through the Second World War, Korea, Vietnam and Lebanon. Oak salvaged from HMS Victory, still afloat in Portsmouth after two centuries. Decking from the USS North Carolina, the most decorated American battleship of the Second World War.

Each piece is turned by hand, one at a time, and every one is finite. When a ship's wood runs out, that is the end of it.

Built by a Navy veteran, for people who understand why the material matters.
