Coffee farms and growing regions
Good coffee starts far from the roaster.
Every lot begins with a farm, a climate, a harvest, and people who know their land. We evaluate coffee for cup quality, process, and responsible growing practices.
Different waters. Different cups.
Altitude, soil, rain, and craft.
Coffee changes with the place that grows it. High elevation can slow maturation and build complexity. Volcanic soil, shade, rainfall, processing, and harvest timing all leave a mark in the cup. That is why origin belongs in the story, not hidden in fine print.
Latin America
Chocolate, fruit, balance
Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica, and Brazil contribute an enormous range, from cocoa and nuts to citrus and ripe fruit.
Africa
Bright and layered
Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Ethiopia are known for lively fruit, florals, spice, and distinct regional character.
Asia and the Pacific
Body, spice, depth
India, Bali, and Papua New Guinea can bring smooth cocoa, spice, citrus, and substantial body to the voyage.
Loans That Lift
Put coffee dollars back where coffee grows.
Each quarter, Salty Sailor makes Kiva micro-loans to coffee farmers and growing communities. The loans can support equipment, processing, seasonal labor, and more sustainable production. When a loan is repaid, those dollars can go back out to another farmer.
It is a practical cycle: buy good coffee, help fund the next harvest, repeat.
